Kickin’ off the new week in high gear

While I took some time off Saturday afternoon to do a little early-celebratin’ of Mom’s Day with the family over at my sis’ place, the past four days were spent largely chained to my desk, pounding the keyboard (had to clean some blood off it Sunday morning), working on some revisions to the screenplay my distributor and producers want to have for a presentation coming up. These guys have interest from a studio looking to put together a whole slate of films, and one of my projects is in the running to be on that slate.

So, four straight 18 hour days later… I turned in the updated script, so it’s sit back and wait, see what the folks with the dough say about it.

Now, my focus shifts back to my fantasy story for the upcoming Winterlands antho. I want to get this wrapped up by the last week of the month, get it in a little early, see how the editors feel about it. I like the story, the structure is solid and I think it meets all the criteria, but fantasy isn’t usually my bag, so we’ll see how the guys in charge react to it when it’s ready.

That photo (yes, it’s legit), was taken the night I was interviewed on Tha Jackal’s Head radio show. Where? Well, I was sitting in the Backstreets parking lot, (my fave hangout for live music), because Pam wanted to go sing karaoke and we both wanted pizza, and I didn’t think we could make it to the club and back in time. So, using Pam’s HP Pre smartphone, my Sennheiser headphones (these are the same ones I use while writing), I did the interview from the cab of my pickup truck. Hey, sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. Unless you’re willing to go without NY style pizza.

And now, back to the writing.

(Wait—doesn’t this count as writing???)
